Virion is a dispersed exhibition shown on screens across Australia and around the world, accommodating a diverse audience. Each site provides a unique viewing experience while interacting with the social, cultural and day-to-day activities of each site's surrounding city.

 

Virion Screen Locations

Brisbane

Parer Place is an outdoor duel projector screen located at the Parade Ground of Queensland University of Technology, Creative Industries Precinct in Brisbane, Australia. Running an annual curated program that engages with local, national and international screening partners and artists across Australasia, America and Europe. 

 

The Edge is The State Library of Queensland's newest initiative. It is a place for young Queenslanders; a place for experimentation and creativity, giving contemporary tools to young people to allow them to explore critical ideas, green initiatives, new design practices and media making. The Edge's physical component is at Brisbane's Cultural Centre at South Bank, housed in the former Cultural Centre Auditorium building and associated spaces. It's a state-of-the-art facility that provides creative spaces and innovative programs; a welcoming place, buzzing with people inventing, creating, presenting and meeting peers.

 

Sydney

The Concourse is the cultural hub of Sydney's North Shore with a dynamic range of venues including a concert hall, theatre, library and an outdoor Urban Screen. The urban Screen is a free public program that showcases digital art, open air cinema, live sporting events and live broadcasts of performances. 

 

Melbourne

Federation Square is part of the Melbourne cultural precinct, as well as a civic centre. It contains two major public spaces located at the intersection between Flinders Street and Swanston Street/St Kilda Road in Melbourne’s Central Business district. A major part of fed square is the fixed public screen within the plaza.

 

perth 

Perth Cultural Centre Big Screen. Perth's main cultural hub is located in the middle of the CBD surrounded by retail, food and beverage and entertainment. The cultural hub itself contains the State's main cultural and educational institutions which include, The art Gallery of Western Australia, Western Australian Museum, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Perth Cultural Centre Big Screen.
